Security Safety & Protection LEAD/ OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH (OSH) SPECIALIST

 

 

The Security Safety & Protection Lead/ Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Specialist collects data from various types of workplace environments, along with policy and procedures, and analyzes the data to ensure a safe working environment. The role includes the liaison, formulation, implementation, and supervision of safety policy and  procedures, and programs in the workplace environment, including company events and other activities, to ensure the adherence to the Safety Standards set by ADP and/or in consonance to the Republic Act No. 11058 - an Act Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof.

 

 

DUTIES

Security Safety & Protection Lead/ Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Specialist shall lead and take point and performs the following duties:

Serves as the OSH Committee Secretary and performs functions of Safety Man/Officer in accordance to the OSH Standards, set by the Labor Department. Accomplishes “Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control (HIRAC)”, manage and mitigate hazards to ensure workplace environment and workers’ safety. Formulates, manages and implements OSH Programs and other safety initiatives in agreement by the OSH Committee, and in consonance to the OSH Standards. Evaluates, outlines, liaises and implements workplace safety procedures (i.e., equipment use, construction safety, and the like), including mental health and ergonomics. Facilitates safety trainings or seminars, mandated drills and other related initiatives surrounding associate safety in line to ADP Standards, and the OSH Standards. Accomplishes comprehensive report on all incidents surrounding worker/associate safety, identify the root cause, recommends mitigation and preventive measures for the same.  Accomplishes OSH compliances, reportorial, and other safety statutory compliances in consonance to the requirements of OSH Standards and Labor Department.

 

 

OTHER DUTIES Leads or participates in Executive Protection (EP) efforts, including support, assessments, intelligence gathering and coordination, along with the GSO CSS Safety Security and Protection Specialists. Facilitates the GSO CSS talk for New Associate Networking and Onboarding (NANO), and Leader Onboarding Program (LOP) orientation, and other relative sessions. Manages and oversees the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and requirements, including trainings and other initiatives in line to ADP Safety Standards, and OSH Standards. Proposes budget forecast for OSH  Programs and other Safety projects expenditures to the GSO CSS Manager, for review and approval. Assists in BCP Coordination, Crisis Management, Safety and Security Assessments, and other GSO CSS management functions assigned by the GSO CSS Manager.

 

 

 

 

 

 

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS

 

The Security Safety & Protection Lead/ Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Specialist should possess the following certifications and eligibilities, including but not limited to the following:

 

Certified Safety Officer 2 or SO2 (Mandatory)

Completed the 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health for SO2 Training, having the basic knowledge and skills on identifying safety, health, and environmental hazards; determining appropriate control measures, and developing and implementing OSH policies and programs.

 

Certified Safety Officer 3 or SO3 (Mandatory)

Completed the (A)40-hour Loss Control Management plus 8-hour HIRAC Training,    plus 2-hour Training of Trainers; (B)additional forty-eight (48) hours of advanced/specialized OSH training course relevant to the industry; (C)relevant experience in OSH for at least two (2) years, and other requirements as prescribed in the OSH standards.

 

Accident Investigation Training (Mandatory)

General knowledge, skills and systematic procedures necessary on conducting accident investigation, in consonance to the Philippine OSH Standards.

 

Certified Safety Officer 4 or SO4 (Advantage)

Completed the (A)mandatory forty (40)-hour OSH training course applicable to the industry; and/or (B)additional Eighty (80) hours of advanced/specialized OSH training course relevant to the industry; (C)an aggregate of three hundred twenty (320) hours of OSH related training or experience; (D)an actual experience as SO3 for at least four (4) years, and other requirements as prescribed by the OSH standards. Additional training may be converted to years of experience where eighty (80) hours of training may equal to one (1) year of experience and vice versa.

 

Fire Safety and Prevention Training (Advantage)

Completed the 40-hour Fire Safety course of the fundamental knowledge and skills in fire and life safety standards in consonance to the Fire Code of the Philippines.

 

Training on Ergonomics in the Workplace (Advantage)

Basic ability to assess ergonomic risk factors in the workplace, and to apply basic ergonomic principles to manage identified risks and prevent occupational and work-related injuries and illness.

 

Executive Protection (EP) Trainings/Experience (Advantage)

Training or experience in Executive Protection (EP) operation, to evaluating and planning complex situations, performing risk assessments, implementing mitigating strategies, and other necessary steps to keep VIP safe from any potential harm.
