Gynecology Oncologist and MIGS Hybrid - Assistant Professor
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine seeks applications for a tenure-eligible clinical faculty position as a member of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in Charlottesville, VA. The faculty member will be engaged in the full spectrum of gynecologic oncology care as well as support benign minimally invasive gynecology services in an academic environment and will join a group of 8 OB/GYN academic specialist (7 gyn onc and 1 MIGS) faculty, 3 PA/NP clinicians, and 6 Clinical Research Coordinators. Clinical duties will include an office-based practice, as well as performing gynecologic and gynecologic oncology surgery, and associated call. The faculty member will conduct outreach clinics in UVA facilities as needed. In addition, the faculty member will participate in undergraduate and graduate medical education. The University of Virginia Cancer Center is an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center that houses many of the clinical and research programs. The Cancer Center brings together more than 162 members from 25 departments to service its mission of “to reduce the burden of cancer for the patients of today, through skilled, integrated, and compassionate care and to eliminate the threat of cancer for the patients of tomorrow, through research and education in an environment that promotes diversity, equity and inclusion”. The faculty member will apply for Cancer Center membership to access core services and participate in clinical trials. University of Virginia Health is composed of the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, University Physicians Group and the Medical Center. The Medical Center is a 735-bed, level 1 trauma center that serves as the primary, specialty and sub-specialty hospital for central Virginia.
