Job Purpose                                       

Responsible to support overall business of Intervention Services and Drilling Tools for Geozone. This Product line includes Fishing, Whipstock, Abandonment, and Performance Drilling Tools. This role includes Key responsibilities supporting Geozone management with sales, Application, Tender review, Preparing proposals and high-profile project coordination with Global product line.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

QUALITY 

Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford’s Management System  Maintains Service Quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement. Active participation in the investigation and closure of all PC-1 & PC-2 issues related to your product line assuring that these are closed out in a timely manner and that they are reported to line management through Weatherford process and policy.

OPERATIONS 

Provide Geozone technical services and application support for products and services to employees within the business unit, clients, and other business units with Weatherford.  Assist Geozone operations with the introduction and continued support of products/services into the market, including travelling to those locations as required. Provide input to Global Product Line on product request / development. Coordinate with Manufacturing / Global product line in forecasting demand accurately, manage inventory turns and ensure on time delivery across all countries with Geozone. Foster an environment where innovation, entrepreneurship and courage are valued and encouraged. Demonstrates high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in planning, organizing and guiding extensive engineering activities.  Proven ability to problem-solve from the big strategic challenges to the small tactical decisions and challenge status quo. Ensure SOP`s are in place or assist in writing additional ones  Work closely with key stakeholders across the organization to provide reporting and analysis that will facilitate business improvement and operational efficiency.  Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. Collaborate with leadership to promote the continual quality improvement strategy of the company to meet strategic business objectives and profitability. Provide a critical support role in tracking the execution of business plans.

COMMUNICATION 

Define and direct specific strategy by gathering input and business needs from customers and then creating a product-based solution to generate revenue and/or create value. Resolves conflicts between competing stakeholders by prioritizing requirements and products for development and commercialization; tracks project issues to completion, such as outstanding questions, decisions or changes. Maintain communication and contacts to collect and analyse technical, financial, marketing, schedule, and sales information for product line. Creates clear and thorough acceptance criteria to ensure that the team understands when work is complete; participates in the retrospective. Provide direct, high-level support to customers for critical new technology services. Promote Weatherford’s new technology within the industry by writing technical papers, attending industry conferences, contributing to the development of technical marketing material, making technical sales presentations to customers, and providing other technical support to sales and operations. Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external.

FINANCIAL 

Define and monitor relevant KPI’s to identify areas of improvement and drive operational improvements. All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses. Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure.

PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT 

Provide operational technical support for all active operations to ensure tools are ran within specification and following best practices and lessons learned. Maintain the Geozone Product Line’s training requirements in line with competency assessments. Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function training to enhance their skills and experience. Employees must complete all assigned Compliance & Company Standards training. Employees should engage on a regular basis with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential.

 

Experience & Education

REQUIRED

•            Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline or equivalent experience

•             10+ years’ experience with Fishing, Whipstock, and Well Abandonment.

PREFFERED

10+ years of Well Construction experience related with Drilling/Workover/Abandonment  Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.  Experience in sales and/or business development.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

REQUIRED 

Strong Big Hole fishing, Whipstock, experience coupled with extensive knowledge of abandonment tools including section milling, and single cut & pull system. Strong organizational and communication skills Familiarity with reading, analysing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Skill in examining tenders, market conditions and operational requirements. Demonstrated ability to effectively train and mentor personnel in classroom and field environments. Complex problem solving and analytical skills. Work effectively across a diverse multicultural multilingual community. The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations. Proficient Microsoft Office and computer skills.

 

Travel Requirement:

This role may require domestic and international travel of up to  25-50%
