Overall Position Narrative

H&S Officer cum Fire Prevention Manager Job Description

Ensure compliance with the local EHS regulation for the TW Oracle office, including the local Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Fire Services Act, and other relevant local EHS regulations. Implement and promote corporate EHS standards, etc., and cultivate the EHS culture in Oracle premises and other relevant scenarios. Responsible for developing a fire protection plan and updating the fire protection plan for the Taiwan Office according to the local fire authority requirements. Work together with the local authority in managing and developing the fire protection plan for the Taiwan Office. Manage the maintenance and inspection of the following fire management: Fire safety and alert systems Electrical systems/equipment, mechanical systems/equipment Hazardous materials/equipment safety plans for any construction or renovations evacuation route management employee fire safety & emergency preparedness training other fire safety-related matters, etc. Maintain and monitor the fire alarm system, firefighting system, & fire suppression system so they are always in good working condition. To provide regular training to the employees of the buildings in the use of firefighting equipment provided on the premises and provide them information about the fire evacuation plan procedure. Keep proper liaison with the Taiwan city fire brigade and maintain renewal records.  Updating the list of ERT members & basic fire safety training Ensure vendors & workers perform with fire safety compliance. Maintaining emergency contacts for the emergency purpose. Perform regular fire safety inspections of the facility, ensuring that they meet all necessary codes and regulations. Coordinate half-yearly evacuation drills and maintain emergency contacts for emergency purposes.


Required Qualifications

Proficient in both English and Mandarin to communicate with Taiwan government authority. Holds Local Taiwan recognised workplace Safety and health Officer and fire prevention manager qualifications. Min 5 to 12 years’ experience in facilities operations with hands on experience implementation of SH&E, fire prevention management systems. Good understanding of international health, safety codes and fire codes. Experienced in conducting safety inspections and audits and able to collaborate with experienced senior leaders and colleagues. Able to work independently and multitask efficiently and good knowledge of current fire suppression and firefighting techniques along with knowledge of the principles and practices involved in emergency medical services, Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels, including external customers and vendors.  Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
