JOB PURPOSE 

The Senior Manager Medical Affairs will play a critical role in the Nutritional Sciences and Innovation team.  They will be responsible for providing development and execution of scientific engagement strategy for 1) the International Expansion of the H&W Collective and 2) the Long-Term Science pipeline development. They will also support the existing Operating Companies within their core market on scientific engagement. 

 

The role reports to the Head, Nutritional Sciences and Innovation, Health & Wellbeing and will interface with the Global and Regional R&D teams. 

The role requires the ability to translate science into differentiated and meaningful business applications.  Strong people and networking skills and a true passion for innovation also required. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Lead  

Develop the overall External Engagement Strategy for Health & Wellbeing for International Expansion (Nutrafol, Liquid IV, Olly) and Long-Term Science Pipeline 

Be the scientific expert in project contexts by translating vitamins, minerals and supplements/VMS nutrition science into compelling Healthcare Professional communication and product opportunities in line with global and regional demands and values working closely with H&W R&D and Marketing, Regulatory Affairs and Brand R&D teams in Opcos  

Identify and Manage Relationships with Key Opinion Leaders with a focus on Beauty from Within (Hair and Skin), Hydration and Nutrition/Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements 

Lead Advisory Boards for new market entry/new product launches 

Develop and execute the Scientific Congress and Publication strategies 

Interact with internal stakeholders to optimize transfer of new scientific/clinical insights 

Anticipates and manages potential business issues by predicting and responding to external scientific developments in the field 

 

Support  (within the broader NS&I team) 

Works closely with the Nutrition Science and Clinical Development Teams as part of the claims and communication development (Substantiation à Generation à Dissemination) 

Monitor the latest scientific data (academic and industry) for the key benefit areas: beauty from within, hydration, cognition/mood, women’s health, sleep, and nutritional science 

Partner with the Operating Companies on the deployment of their external scientific engagement 

 

ALL ABOUT YOU 

Master’s degree required (PhD preferred) in nutrition science, food science, dietetics, life sciences or similar discipline. 

Relevant experience in a healthcare, consumer goods, food or pharmaceutical company with a focus on VMS, Sports Science or Dermatology 

Broad knowledge of Nutrition and Health Science and/or Dermatology 

Ability to translate nutrition science into Healthcare professionals relevant propositions, claims and communication 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to senior management  

Networking and stakeholder management   

Attention to detail, excellent organization and time management skills. 

Ability to think flexibly in order to meet constantly shifting priorities and timelines and to independently provide solutions to issues. 

Problem-solving, troubleshooting skills and ability to find creative solutions 

Ability to work successfully in a ‘team-based’ environment 

Ability to manage external collaborations and projects
