Hair & Makeup Room Manager

In the midst of a historic time in the media industry, Bloomberg Media is growing its global footprint and reach through new innovations from Quicktake to New Economy to our rapidly growing consumer subscriptions business. We are hiring a Hair, Makeup and Style manager to join our Global Production team in New York. You will be responsible for directing the overall look of individuals in Bloomberg Media Productions, managing a team of hair stylists and makeup artists and coordinating with our wardrobe team to ensure consistent and high-quality styling at all times. Our group includes televisions and streaming productions as well as support for live events across the United States. It is a team-oriented atmosphere, working under tight deadlines and pressure-filled situations. This is a key role that requires strong leadership, excellent time management, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. We’ll trust you to: Collaborate with Talent to ensure consistency of look day to day Develop comprehensive style guides for each individual Manage and schedule a team of freelance hair stylists and makeup artists Collaborate with wardrobe stylist Create detailed schedules and coordinate with producers on guest support Manage inventory of hair and makeup products, as well as ordering replacement products Keep the team on schedule to ensure talent is camera ready on time Schedule and manage hair color/ cut appointments for talent with salon/ manage the expenses. Book Artists for special events/ on location shoots Foster a positive and respectful work environment, ensuring talent and team members feel comfortable and valued. You’ll need to have: At least 5 years of experience working in the television or film industry An understanding of studio lighting and impact on the overall product Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team, work with on-air talent, and collaborate with other departments Expertise in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in a professional makeup room Ability to manage makeup tools, supplies, and inventory effectively Experience in problem-solving and managing last-minute changes or emergencies.
