Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Hammer Helper to join our team. This role involves assisting the Blacksmith and other members of the forging crew in various tasks to ensure efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of company procedures and work instructions, and be committed to taking notes during the manufacturing process.
ResponsibilitiesTransfer and lift metal parts to and from workstations such as furnace, hammer, anvil using pick ups or manipulator.Place punches on parts to set up hole punching operations.Rotate, turn and flip parts during the hammer operation using shears, bolsters, and levers to move parts.Remove scale from work pieces and dies using a broom.Mark material with specified information using metal stamps.Apply oil, coal, and other lubricants throughout the forging process.Measure rough and finished parts with measuring tools to ensure fit in ring roller.Conduct set-up of sizing equipment.Operate overhead crane.Operate forklift and/or manipulator and refuel with propane.Grind surfaces of finished parts using portable and stationary power grinders.Responsible for housekeeping.Maintain a safe and organized workstation and follow all company policies, safety, and procedures.Essential SkillsGeneral labor experience.Ability to assist the Blacksmith and other forging crew members.Knowledge of company procedures and work instructions.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.Experience with portable and stationary power grinders.Understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.Why Work Here?

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.94 - $19.94/hr.
