Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

The contract with New Zealand Steel is of significant importance to Spotless.  New Zealand Steel is the country’s sole producer of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural industries. They operate a fully integrated steel mill at Glenbrook, about 60 kilometres south of Auckland. The contract covers the facilities management of all buildings within this site.

A bit about the role: 

The purpose of the Handyman’s position is to carry out general maintenance work and assist with tradesman to carry out their tasks under contractual arrangements with the client.  All work undertaken shall be in accordance with best industry practice that will provide best possible outcomes for both the company and the customer.

This position involves working unsupervised to provide a high-quality facilities maintenance service.  The Handyman position therefore requires an individual with the willingness to work flexible hours and an ability to manage their own time to meet deadlines.  The role involves manual handling and lifting and may require incumbents to stand for lengthy periods and work in hot or noisy environments.
