Vertex is seeking a highly motivated Configuration Management Professional.
**This position is contingent upon contract award **
*This CM role will support product lifecycle management for various systems currently fielded by our customer. An ideal candidate will have direct PLM/PDM Tool experience and managing Engineering Technical Data Packages. *Candidates should be able to operate at scale, in an ambiguous environment, and adapt to the customers dynamic requirements.
* This role will work collaboratively with cross-functional team members to deliver Product Lifecycle and Change management.
*This position interfaces with cross-functional teams within engineering, testing, production, logistics, maintenance, and sustainment.
Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project
management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Implement configuration management governance and controls for configuration items in the PLM/PDM database.Functional experience in Engineering, Manufacturing and Product Change ManagementHave a good understanding of PLM Processes end to endGood understanding of associated processes like BOM Management, Part numbering, EBOM, MBOM and Configuration ManagementPerform work in PLM Tool managing all lifecycles as pertains to the end-productResponsible for managing transactional day-to-day PLM activities for Part Numbering, ECP (Engineering Change Proposals), TDP management, and other Document Control OperationsHave an exceptional attention to detail.Ability to collaboratively work with engineering, production, and logistics teams, as well as external suppliers and OEMs to achieve the customers’ requirements.Analyze Engineering Change Requests of product baselines to determine the effect on the end product and update documentation as necessary.Participate in Configuration Control and Engineering Review boardsIdentify Configuration Items and maintain documentation for hardware, software, and other configuration items as necessaryPerform technical writing to update CI documentation and technical manuals or training materialResearch and document As-Designed and As-Built baselines for the production systemPlan and execute assigned PLM tasks within tight deadlinesAssist in system analysis, design analysis, development, and testing processes.REQUIRED SKILLS:
Broad depth of knowledge and experience associated with Configuration Management standards and processesUnderstanding of product lifecycle processesCM skill level supports working independently, with ability to lead in the day-to-day execution of CM taskingDemonstrated skill in the utilization of one or more PLM/PDM toolsDemonstrated ability to assess existing CM plans/processes for adequacy and develop CM-specific operating procedures as needed.Technical editing, proofreading, and formatting of engineering documentationAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)Creativity in problem solving, crisp attention to detail and ability to multi-taskU.S. Citizenship status is required for this position to access US only data systemsAbility to obtain a government security clearanceStrong Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)DESIRED SKILLS:

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:
Typically requires a degree in Science ,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
