Amazon.com
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
The Kuiper team is looking for a Hardware Delivery leader to support business and engineering stakeholders in driving performance and delivery assurance with critical technology and service suppliers, and others as needed to execute on Kuiper objectives. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record managing tight dead-lines, finding ways to expedite material, reporting delivery KPIs, ensuring vendor performance, influencing new systems adoption (e.g. E2Open) and driving root-cause analysis.
Experience working in new and ambiguous environments while knowing how to prioritize a broad range of cross functional stakeholders needs will be an advantage.
Up to 50% travel required.
Key job responsibilities
- Work with a range of stakeholders including business leaders, engineering leaders, program management, and supply chain to ensure material arrives on-time for program builds.
- Ensure vendor delivery performance on committed deliveries and agreed lead-times.
- Expedite material as needed by the business.
- Communicate delivery KPI’s to drive supplier business reviews and enforce contractual obligations.
- Develop root-cause analysis and corrective actions when delivery performance is not meeting expectation.
- Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions and development of processes to resolve internal challenges causing needs to expedite or vendors to push-out commit dates.
- Support identification of supply risks and bottlenecks impacting deliveries at vendors, and communicate them to Global Category Managers.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
A day in the life
