We are seeking an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. The Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of hardware components and systems. This includes schematic capture, PCB layout, simulation, prototyping, and validation of new hardware products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analog and digital circuit design, as well as experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
Key job responsibilities
You will be responsible for the schematic and PCB design based on the reference platform. In addition, you will also act as system integrator, leading the cross-functional engineering team through the development process. You will be responsible for the overall hardware including audio, RF, power, display, etc; as well as leading the team through all the usual integration challenges – ESD, EMC, antenna performance, etc.
1. Engage with OEM/ODM partners, vendors and cross functional teams to design, develop and test HW applicable to program objectives.
2. Perform review on schematic, layout, and validation results.
Be hands-on for issue debug and root cause analysis.
3. Collaborating with software teams to understand and resolve design tradeoffs across hardware/ software for seamless integration.
4. Work with the operations team on manufacturing test development and contract manufacturing.
5. Maintain strong communications among cross functional teams.
6. Mentor junior engineers in engineering best practices, and participate in hiring of new team members
