Our employees are supported to innovate and learn something new every day. Opportunity Overview We are looking for creative Hardware Design Engineers to join our HW Design Team in Costa Rica. The candidate will design, analyze and validate solutions for ATE instrumentation. They will see designs through all aspects of the design phase, will work with vendors seeking the best use of new technology for continual improvement, and will participate in design reviews with their fellow engineers. This role will have the following responsibilities: • Hardware technical assessments, requirements and implementation plans. • Analog and power circuit design, simulation and specification margin analysis. • Power and timing analysis on signal delivery. • Circuit development including on-board power supply design, power regulation, control loops, magnetics, filters, and high-speed circuits and signals. • Schematic capture, PCB planning and review. • Design validation plans and verification. • Design for reliability, testability, and manufacturability. • Participation in design reviews, failure analysis, writing specifications. • Assist with design verification testing and data collection, for proof of design goals. • Collaboration with semiconductor suppliers in resolving component obsolescence issues. • Working on customer issues with existing instrument designs. • Participation in industry seminars and ongoing skills-based training. Designing a new instrument for this challenging ATE market requires excellence in a variety of disciplines including FPGA, Firmware, Software, QA, Thermal Design, Mechanical Design. The Hardware Engineer must be able to work as part of these cross functional teams and be able to navigate the challenges that occur in designing such complex products as part of these cross functional teams and be able to navigate the challenges that occur in designing complex products. Minimum job requirements: + Bachelor’s degree in Electronics engineering, electrical engineering or related field. + English Proficiency + Minimum 2 year of experience in: + Understanding of digital design concepts. + Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (e.g. IBIS, SPICE) + Experience with common lab bench top equipment (scopes, DMMs, function generators, etc.) + Knowledge of PCB layout experience. + Knowledge of Schematic Capture The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following behavioral traits: + Self-directed and proactive. + Excellent communication skills that enable effective interaction with other members of the team and cross-functional teams.
