The main mission of the Hardware Development Engineer is to carry out the development process, including product and hardware function study, CPU selection, CPU peripheral circuit design.
To meet our customer's needs in detail, we will provide strong products that meet the world's strictest Japanese quality standards, from specification study and parts selection to testing and shipping processes.
As a Hardware Development Engineer, you will:
Be responsible for hardware development to manage router and LAN switch products. Work with internal teams to investigate current and future architectures, requirements, and technology needs. Be responsible for the CPU modules of hardware to be embedded into the product, and select them, peripheral design, evaluating, testing, and bug fixing. Work cross-functionally with hardware development, software development, and quality assurance to provide high-quality products. Actively participate in fixing complex technical problems. Research new technologies and trends for x86 CPUs, select the most suitable CPU, and apply it to products.We Are Looking For:

3+ years of hardware development experience in the ICT/hardware industry. Experience with the following. (Do not need to match all of them) Experience and in-depth knowledge of the COM Express board architecture, focusing on x86(IA)-CPUs. In-depth knowledge of the series of actions leading up to OS startup. Understanding of BIOS/POST/Loader. Initialization of various PCIe devices. Analysis of POST codes. Based on the exception code output by the CPU, analyze the cause of bug, isolate the hardware or software, and plan to verify countermeasures. Knowledge and experience with UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface). Knowledge and experience with secure boot. COM Express board evaluation item selection/planning. Creating a procedure and preparing evaluation tools for prototype evaluation. Evaluating and testing various interfaces for ICT devices. Knowledge and experience with storage media such as SSDs and USB memories. Knowledge and experience with Layer 2 network protocols. Knowledge and experience with Layer 3 network protocols. Smooth communication and negotiation with vendors. Emphasis on teamwork. Inquisitiveness for new technology. Want to develop high quality products. Native level Japanese.
