Enterprise Systems development Lab – part of ISDL, has Internship & Job opportunities in the Design & Development of Processors for IBM Mainframe & Power systems.
If you have a degree in VLSI design or electronics and looking for building a career in hardware aspects of the processor development, have skills / interested in the Processor core development, Logic Design, Analog circuits, Physical Design, Custom layout, Memory & Library characterization.
Computer Science graduates interested in the design and development of algorithms to verify / validate and debug the processor Architecture & Performance, Logic Design, Analog circuits, Physical Design, Custom layout,  Verification , Pre & Post Silicon Validation , Memory & Library characterization & EDA tooling.
IBM Systems development lab works on the development of latest generation processors that power the IBM Z Systems (Mainframe) & IBM Power Systems.

The Enterprise Systems Development team in Bangalore is a microcosm of the global Systems development lab. As a member of the ESD team you will have an opportunity to work on the Design/ Verification/ Pre Silicon Validation / Physical design/ EDA / Library/ Memory characterization/ Post silicon validation of the Processor chip that is being developed in the latest technologies of 5nm , 3nm & Beyond.

Skill Required – Digital Logic design, Computer Architecture, RISC V or other processor pipeline knowledge, VLSI design flow and process knowledge, Good understanding of custom circuits , Analog , Digital logic design, memory technologiesGood programming and scripting ( Python/ Perl)  skills are highly desired
Responsibility:The Server memory development team at IBM India Systems Development Lab (ISDL) works on the latest Server class memory technology which includes developing memory subsystem architecture with DDR4 & DDDR5 DRAM DIMM, MRAM, SSD/FLASH and Storage class memory. You shall get an opportunity to learn about server memory subsystem architecture and emerging memory technology trends. You could expect to perform validation & competitive analysis of new technologies and prototype/engineering samples from suppliers along with hands-on experience in a POWER Server Lab. At the end of the project, you should be able to demonstrate good understanding of a POWER server, suggest improvements on the present validation techniques and show a deeper understanding of server memory architecture.
