Position Title: Systems Integration Hardware Engineer
To represent Ribbon as a Hardware/Software Engineer responsible for the development of hardware/cabling/software specifications and drawing documents used to support the implementation and integration of assigned projects as per Ribbon’s commitment to meet or surpass Customer expectations. This role fulfils services sold and includes performing and/or supporting Engineering, Configuration, Integration, Test, Migration, and Solution validation.
The hardware/software engineering service can be defined as provisioning and configuration of hardware, cabling and software for complex network solutions. Includes meeting with the Customer to review project scope details, creating a detailed material list for the order and configuring the equipment based on Ribbon guidelines and standards.
The primary responsibilities are as follows:
Meet with Customer to understand desired solution, & ensure Customer clearly understands all criteria and deliverablesCreate an Order Capture Worksheet(OCW) with detailed provisioning informationProduce detailed specs and drawings required via Ribbon tools and proceduresIdentify / explore impacts & risks to current configurationSolution validation – ensure configuration details meet or exceed Customer requirementsReview and follow existing documentation as applicableProvide project support through services completion (related to engineering solution & budget)Deliverables include
Early Job Conference (EJC) – Customer meeting to review scope details and request Customer related inputs required.Customer Information (CI) – Customer meeting to gather, review and agree on final engineering inputs for the project.Hardware & Cabling Specs – create specs and drawings for inputs to downstream processes including supply chain and deployment teamIdentify and order required software via Ribbon tools and processesTravel
Minimal travel may be required May be required to work off normal business hours at times to meet Customer schedules.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience3+ years’ experience creating Hardware/Software specifications and drawingsExperience configuring equipment in complex networks/solutionsSelf-motivated individuals able to learn quickly.Must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively work with others.Candidates must be driven to achieve results while maintaining deadlines.Unix/Linux/Solaris knowledge and skills.Excellent organizational skills.Please Note:
