Hardware Engineer

Wood is recruiting for a Hardware Engineer to join our System Integration (SI) team within our Digital Consulting business, focusing on discrete automation projects.   

This is a hybrid role that can be based at any of the following UK offices: Aberdeen, Staines, Reading, Glasgow or Northampton with the expectation of travel as required, 

Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Role 

The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the initial design and selection of components through to supervising and supporting the actual build. You will join a team of multi discipline experts, supporting exciting projects across high-profile clients within Woods Digital Consulting business.  

As a Hardware Engineer, you will have the expert knowledge to assist in the implementation of a variety of projects, specialising in the hardware design of the automation controls.  

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Hardware engineer with a positive and proactive approach to ensuring continuous improvements, customer satisfaction and safety performance, who is looking for a role that provides technical challenges and variety.

Our Systems Integration (SI) team, work with a variety of high-profile clients across the energy sector. Delivering bespoke essential automation and control solutions that enable a safer and more efficient operation.  

Within SI, we are architecting our clients' digital ecosystems to be inherently safe, cybersecure and operable. Within our teams we integrate client source systems across their IT, Operational Technology (OT) environments, securely pushing OT data into IT systems as a foundation for transformation. 

We design and integrate operational technology to achieve business, production and operational goals.
