Hardware Engineer- FPGA
Job Title: Hardware Engineer (FPGA focus)

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Hardware Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and drafting of new hardware products, as well as revisions to existing products. This role involves evaluating contract requirements, performing mechanical design, providing production guidance, capturing schematics, and designing printed circuit boards. You will also provide customer support, evaluate vendors, and participate in engineering meetings.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and draft new hardware products and revisions to existing products.Evaluate contract requirements for new product designs and modifications.Perform mechanical design of hardware chassis including sheet metal, PCB mounting, hardware installation, selection of color, texture, and screening.Provide guidance and interface with production to ensure error-free assembly.Capture schematics and design printed circuit boards.Interface with engineers on PCB layout, power distribution, and any special considerations.Provide customer support for inquiries received.Evaluate vendors and fabricators to ensure the best quality and price.Attend weekly engineering meetings and report the status of current projects.Process Engineer Change Requests.Essential SkillsExperience in digital circuit design, VHDL, and FPGA design software (Actel and Xilinx).Knowledge of PCB development techniques and software (schematic capture and board layout).Experience in CAD for designing assembly drawings.Experience with electrical test equipment (logic analyzer, oscilloscope, DMM).Ability to assemble computer chassis.Experience with PCB debugging and rework.Intermediate soldering skills.Familiarity with Windows OS, MS Office programs (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook).Strong technical writing skills.Work Environment

You will have the opportunity to work in a small company environment where you can lead projects and work on the entire project lifecycle. This role requires collaboration with production and engineering teams, and attending weekly engineering meetings. The work environment is dynamic and provides the chance to interface directly with vendors and customers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $75.00
