Responsibilities

The Characterization Hardware Engineer Intern’s responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:

Characterize tunable high-speed optical transceiversSet up R&D stationsExecute automation in test stations.Write testing software in Python  Characterization of optical sub-assemblies (TOSA/ROSA)Execute debugging on test stations and modulesExecute Design Verification Tests.  Write technical reportsSupport qualification activitiesInteract with internal design engineers in US and overseas  

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates will be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical, Optical Engineering or Physics.

Desired Qualifications

Candidates have taken graduate courses on optical communications, and/or RF, and/or high-speed analog design. Other relevant areas may be considered.Software development experience (Phyton)Excellent communication, organizational and time management skillsLab experience with optical and RF equipmentExperience characterizing lasers, photodiodes, and active optical subassemblies.Experience with optical transceivers or transmission optical subsystemsSolid foundation in digital, analog circuit design, and opticsExperience with GUI Development, Word Macro/Templates/ Outline/Table, Excel, MatlabData analysisStrong communications, initiative, and teamworkStrong experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
