Hardware Engineer Level 2
Hardware Engineer Level 2 Location: Orlando, FL (32825) Duration: 6+ months + Creates CNC programs for sheet metal punch, determine raw material stock sizes of various materials. + Review engineering drawings/tolerances to support ideal fabrication processes + Research tooling and process enhancements for improved efficiencies + Create CAD models for CAM programs + Design and develop drill templates and weld fixtures + Create/maintain work instructions using SAP + Create stencil programs for marking. + Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. + Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. + Collaborates and provides guidance to other functions (including Quality, Production Control, Manufacturing, and Hardware Eng.) regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. + Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. Skill/Experience/Education Mandatory: Experience with one of the following is mandatory, more than one desired: + MasterCAM, Striker, AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks Polyworks + Creating manufacturing/machining work instructions based on the drawings and/or models. + Providing technical guidance and timely problem resolution in support of machine shop operators to facilitate performance. + Supporting the investigation of root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement + Applying lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and increase yields. + Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. + May be required to develop cost estimates in support of proposals.
