Ring is looking for a Hardware Development Engineer who will be a part of our global electrical engineering team, playing a critical role in ensuring the highest product quality standards and driving continuous improvement of products.
Key job responsibilities
- Knows what is important when shipping products to customers and has been through the process from start to finish.
- Is comfortable with proactive outward communication and technical leadership and never shies away from a challenge.
- Work with the product board design owner to provide the best design of the DC to DC circuit, charge circuit, wireless charge and design of the power efficiency and consumption, sequence and transient.
- Response and stability of power circuitry under the system operation range and stress condition with margin.
- Work with the battery team to select the right battery cell/pack and design of the BMS base on the application requirement and battery lifetime requirement.
- This role is expected to work with close function team and on multiple projects as well. Expected to support power design validation process and standard for Ring projects to apply on all CMs
A day in the life
- Manage ODM the EE design from RFQ to MP.
- Work with new circuit design and study.
- Find solutions and workarounds with ODM for potential bugs.
- Work with procurement team to support second source qualification.
- Basic knowledge of FW operation, MCU structure, OTA, GPIO settings, etc.
- Basic knowledge of general buses including I2C, I2S, SPI, and DDR.
- PI knowledge including buck / boost / LDO/AC to DC theory, and basic components selection capability.

Within the Hardware Development team, you will be a core member of the Ring Taipei development team. Ideal candidate would be passionate about building IOT products. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
