In this position... 

This Hardware Engineering Lead - Ford Charge Network role will work to ensure organized and efficient operation of our growing VPEC systems testing capabilities, personnel, resources, and infrastructure. Testing is primarily developed and performed at Ford's state of the art vehicle electrification facility. We focus on ensuring continuously improving the functionality and reliability of operation of our EV charging systems. This includes validating end to end functionality from vehicle to charger to cloud. 

This position is an opportunity to dive into EV charging systems and technology. Systems testing capabilities extend to Ford multiple Ford facilities in the US and Canada. This position offers the opportunity to positively impact Fords EV’s charging products and capabilities to benefit both Ford and multi-make EV’s. The systems testing involvement includes our own cloud-based charger monitoring and management products. 

You'll have... 

BS or MS in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.  4+ Project and/or product management experience.  3+ Years of EV charging development experience.  Strong interest in the growing electric vehicle sector and general charging technology knowledge.  Well organized with high attention to detail  Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.  Strong interest in continuous learning opportunities. 

Even better, you may have...

3+ years of professional technical lab management experience.  3+ yrs experience with testing and validation of EVSE equipment.  Working knowledge and understanding of EVSE standards including UL 2231, UL 2594, SAE J1772, SAE J2953, ISO 15118, OCPP & OpenADR.  Experience w/ data acquisition and automated testing tools and equipment.… (Eg: Keysight, National Instruments, Vector, etc)

What you'll do...

Manage charging product hardware, firmware and software interoperability test personnel and resources.  Develop in-depth technical knowledge of Ford Pro Charging products and software functions.  Act as technical liaison between customers, hardware, customer experience and software development teams.  Direct involvement in development of testing, data collection, analysis, calibration, and validation for new Ford Pro charging products, features & related accessories.  Lab Management such as coordinate lab equipment purchases and facility upgrades to meet expanded capabilities.  Enhance / improve lab operating processes and procedures.  Clearly communicate test status, blockers, results and reports.  Facilitate development of test tool and fixtures aimed at expanding lab capabilities and/or process efficiency.  Coordinate testing activities w/ Ford or 3rd party test labs as needed.  Review and release test reports.  Facilitate identification and development of testing capability or process gaps.  General lab logistics support as necessary.
