You Are:

As a Hardware Lab Technician you will act with guidance to handle day to- to-day operations for hardware testing in computer/server components in a semiconductor lab.

 

The Opportunity:

As a Hardware Lab Technician you will be responsible, but not limited to: Failure Analysis experience with early hardware samples of engineering design. Setup and disassembly of validation platforms, programming of firmware and other engineering tools used for the facilitation of the hardware validation. Move and track HVPIP (High-Value Intellectual Property) using the internal tracking tools. Setup and maintenance of thermal control tools. Monitoring lab chilled water systems, performing minor plumbing, use of OFA (oil free air) to mitigate condensation. Support and maintain lab host machines. Manage test equipment inventory and test equipment (Oscilloscope, BERTs, Fluke DMMs, some internally-designed thermal equipment), and calibration of equipment with external vendors. Responsible for lab safety & cleanliness, including forward-planning of projects and efficient use of lab space with organization (test equipment racks, work spaces, cable routing/management, safe and managed cabling and comprehensive high-value equipment management and loan tracking). Extensive use of laboratory hand + power tools, surface-mount soldering (ECOs and ECN changes to validation platforms and early-design hardware). Shipping and Receiving of equipment, systems, any/all hardware, scrapping damaged/EOL (end-of-life) hardware and management of which end-to-end. Cooperation with a diverse team that crosses multiple GEOs around the globe.

 

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

 

What You Need:

·       1+ years of experience in the following areas:

o    Building PCs, motherboards, and basic hardware debug

o    Testing hardware for computer and servers

o    Lab equipment (Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Analyzers)

 

·       Nice to have:

·       Rework and soldering experience

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Arizona

Compensation Range: $32,000-$48,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
