Mission of the Role: Experienced technical leader adept at leading strategic project management, who drives complex Hardware projects throughout the program lifecycle, ensuring successful execution, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.

Key Objectives of this Role: 

Experienced Technical Leader adept at leading strategic program management, who drives complex Hardware projects throughout the program lifecycle, ensuring successful execution, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. This role works with the larger Product Development team to surpass customer expectations in cost, quality, and delivery on Hardware projects while meeting financial objectives. Develop and maintain control over all the Project Management elements of Hardware Swim Lane.  Project-level Timing plan & Strategy to meet the defined Visteon and Customer milestones. Process Compliance, such as Gate Deliverables, ASPICE, etc. Risks, Defects, Quality Indicators & Escalations. Hardware Engineering Budget and Staff Planning. Manages and coordinates one or more Hardware projects. Plans with Program Lead and other project leaders and aligns milestones to achieve program goals. Supports/aligns other project activities (issues Hardware BOM identifying items' readiness for sourcing, estimates the impact of changes, and communicates sample delivery requirements, among others). Manages estimation (CBOM) and sourcing activities with Program buyers for Hardware BOM. Ensure timely supplier/component qualification (PPAP), eliminating roadblocks, in line with Customer milestones.

Key Performance Indicators: 

Program Execution and Monitoring: Lead, monitor progress, and track internal and external milestones, to ensure timely delivery, cost optimization, & quality outcomes including process compliance. Provides Software leadership to program teams promoting effective decision-making, leading structured approach to problem solving, and triggering preventive actions at the program level. Budget tracking.
Customer Focus: Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with customers and cross-functional stakeholders as the primary contact, along with Hardware Project Leader, for end-to-end program-related activities, using impactful communication across different functions. Be the primary contact for the Customer from a Program Management perspective.
Change Management:  Overseeing/Monitoring/Tracking program changes and scope creep by effectively evaluating and communicating the impacts of changes on timelines, resources, and costs with all cross-functional stakeholders.
Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating program risks to minimize their impact on project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Managing escalations (internal & external).
Innovation and Technology Adoption: Identifying and evaluating emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends to enhance program management effectiveness and efficiency.

Key Year One Deliverables: 

Define Project Scope and Milestones for Hardware Development; Lead Design and Development of Automotive Hardware Components; Ensure Compliance with Automotive Industry Standards; Manage Cross-Functional Collaboration; Oversee Prototype Development and Testing Phases; Ensure Hardware Quality and Reliability Standards; Document and Report Project Progress to Stakeholders; Drive Continuous Improvement in Hardware Processes.

Qualification, Experience, and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical area. Several years of professional experience in program & project management in automotive or similar industries.  Experience in leading bigger development teams located in different countries. Know-how in project management (ideally PRINCE / PMP). Very good understanding of Product Development principles and practical experience. Excellent understanding of development and production processes with experience in Hardware Design and Testing or similar.  Leadership, entrepreneurial thinking, and assertiveness. High level of autonomy and accountability. Strong project management discipline – Planning & Execution, Communication, and Strategy. Strong communication skills, high customer orientation, and team spirit. Analytical-structured expertise. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project and JIRA. Fluent in English, and German is considered a plus.
