Hardware Specialist

The BT Hardware Specialist will focus on and develop a strategy for managing the lifecycle of laptops and iPads, ensuring optimal performance, user support, and efficient asset management. The ideal candidate will take a proactive approach to the role, possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, exceptional time management, have a knack for attention to detail, and a passion for providing white glove support to end-users.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: 3 years of proven experience in IT support or hardware management, specifically with laptops and iPads preferred.

Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with various operating systems and software.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively assist and educate users.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.Knowledge of asset management tools and inventory systems is a plus.

Travel: Up to 50%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAsset Management: In partnership with the Asset Team, maintains an accurate inventory of laptops and iPads, tracking device status and lifecycle phases.Deployment: Develops and leads project plan to coordinate the setup, configuration, and deployment of new devices, ensuring all software are properly implemented.Maintenance & Repairs: Conducts regular maintenance and troubleshooting for hardware issues, facilitating repairs as needed.Lifecycle Management: Owns the end user compute lifecycle. Develops strategy for lifecycle from  procurement to retirement, including upgrades and replacements.User Support: Provides technical assistance to end-users, addressing hardware-related inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.Documentation: Creates and maintains detailed documentation regarding hardware specifications, warranty information, and support processes.Collaboration: Work closely with other IT staff to ensure devices integrate seamlessly within the organization’s IT infrastructure.Training & Education: Train users on best practices for device usage, security, and maintenance to enhance user experience.Vendor Management: Manage relationships with hardware vendors for procurement, repairs, and warranty services.Compliance: Ensure all devices adhere to organizational policies, security standards, and best practices.Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
