As PCB Technician you will have hands-on input on many aspects of our product development cycle. This position works closely with other engineering and manufacturing team members to design PCBs for AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters and inverters using a variety of power topologies, thermal mitigations, and controls. Our power electronics hardware is integrated to support many robust military systems in real-world applications such as radar, RF, communications, mission computing, battery charging, onboard power, autonomous systems, and more. The best candidate will be detail oriented, focused on quality and timely schedules, and willing to share his/her skills in a team environment to yield competitive and accurate results.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•\tCreate the layout for circuit boards using computer software
•\tDevelop digital or analog designs for circuits, computer chips, and other components
•\tUse layout software to position components and create routes to define electrical connectivity
•\tPrepare documents for supplier fabrication and assembly
•\tImplement test plans to ensure that PCBs meet industry standards and avoid component failure
•\tMake revisions based on customer and engineer specifications
•\tWork with engineers to create drawings and support manufacturing and engineering teams
•\tDevelop PCB design guidelines for PCB designers and manufacturers
•\tDevelop detailed specifications for the manufacturing process
•\tYou will work on a variety of boards, including multi-layer, hi-power, and standard boards.
•\tSome say that most companies require a 4-year engineering degree for PCB design jobs. However, others say that skilled PCB designers can learn the job through courses and online certifications.
•\tUnderstand and follow assorted industry design standards to ensure product success
•\tSupport design reviews with contributions to improve design, cut costs, improve speed, and ensure accuracy of project
•\tEffectively use a variety of software, tools, and equipment for design and analysis
•\tTroubleshoot designs and prototypes to provide failure analysis and resolutions
•\tManage/control documentation in a timely, efficient manner following internal ISO9001:2015 / AS9100:2016 procedures
•\tSupport all of the above in an organized, efficient, and safe manner with clear communications in oral, written, and non-verbal forms
Skills
•\tGood understanding of electronic components
•\tStrong knowledge of PCBs
•\tExperience working with schematic, CAD and PCB design software such as PCAD, Altium, SolidWorks, AutoCAD
•\tExperience with EMI reduction, high power (current and thermal transfer) and analog layouts
•\tAssuring layouts conform to requirements of IPC
•\tClear understanding of PCB layer stack up
•\tKnowledge of common PCB design rules
•\tExperience working with and designing engineering drawings
•\tAbility to maintain and create libraries
Required Education & Experience
•\t2-year technical degree or 5-7 years in electrical industry
•\t5-years layout work history
Preferred:
•\tExperience with military electronics standards (MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, etc.) or equivalent automotive standards
