Job Description
As a Hardware Test Engineer, you will support engineering efforts to test and verify ruggedized embedded technologies used in aerospace and defense applications. This role requires a deep understanding of hardware testing processes and techniques, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within small teams.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and document test procedures to validate hardware requirements.Identify and procure necessary hardware and software resources for test execution, including designing or sourcing custom test interfaces as needed.Execute test procedures, ensuring accurate data collection and thorough documentation of results and observations.Conduct hardware validation and design qualification through structured analysis and hands-on testing.Utilize test tools and instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and logic analyzers to debug any issues.Generate detailed test reports, summarize findings, and raise defect tickets for issue tracking and resolution by relevant teams.Provide regular updates on project status, test progress, and timelines to ensure alignment with program milestones.Participate in hardware design reviews, offering testability and verification feedback to improve design robustness.Engage in requirement reviews to assess test feasibility and contribute to the definition of verifiable, measurable hardware requirements.Essential Skills5+ years' experience in hardware engineering, with a focus on testing, including working with high-speed boards.Proven debugging experience.Hands-on experience with lab equipment, such as high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with CAD tools and/or test automation.Experience in test automation with Python.Strong understanding of electronics and engineering principles and application to real-world use.Familiarity with principles of high-speed digital circuit board design, including signal integrity concepts.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Bachelor’s degree or Technologist Diploma in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science (and/or equivalent experience).Work Environment
You will work five days on-site within small teams of 3-4 members. The position offers stable employment opportunities with permanent/direct placement and renewable contract assignments. You will be at the forefront of R&D initiatives in single-board computer technologies, contributing to innovation in next-generation aerospace and defense systems.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
