Hardware Test Engineer

Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Hardware Test Engineer. This is a hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 remote per week) position based at our Moon Township, PA location. Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates currently residing within the US/PR.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Hardware Test Engineer will support hardware testing of new product development and maintenance of line development projects.  They will design test plans and execute validation and verification on electronic products. In addition, they will:

Write test plans for all levels of testing. Maintains records of test progress, documents test results, prepares reports and presents results as appropriate.Develop tests (both manual and automated) from detailed product requirements complying with coding guidelines, electrical standards and test architecture.Establish and drive test processes, procedures and test metrics while improving quality to the customer.Investigate and resolve operational matters of significance in conjunction with other engineering and technical support to ensure cost effective and efficient resolution of problems.Implement quality plans, evaluates quality standards, analyzes test results and recommend corrective actions.Participate in design and implementation reviews.Collaborate with developers, product managers and other members of the team on testing requirements and release planning. 
 Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institutionExperience in hardware/electronics testingMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from an accredited institutionExperience in hardware system verification & validation, qualification & certification testingExperience on EMI/EMC/UL qualification & certification testsExperience on testing in large, complex electrical system environmentsExperience on developing test automation scriptsExperience with test equipment, such as Omicron, Fluke, or, Megger Power System Simulators
 Skills: Strong analytical skillsGood working experience on analog and digital hardware designGood knowledge on PCB design guidelines for EMI/EMC aspectsFamiliarity with communication protocol such as IEC 61850, TCP/IP, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, CAN, and BluetoothKnowledge of DFSS tools, such as FMEA/FMECA, Monte Carlo Analysis etcAbility to travel approximately 10%
