Harvest Area Manager
**Location:** Grants Pass, OR Area **The Opportunity** Primary responsibilities for this position will focus on execution of the timber harvesting program, including planning, budgeting, permitting, contract administration including oversight of log merchandising and quality, and supervision of one direct report. The position will also collaborate with engineering staff on road layout, construction and maintenance activities and with silvicultural staff to ensure successful reforestation. This position may be designated “Remote – Work from Home” or assigned to the Grants Pass office depending on candidate. **Responsibilities** + Develop and strengthen relationships with regulatory agencies, concerned partners and MFM and MIMT staff + Participate with region staff in the management of transportation systems, harvest operations, silviculture, and other land management activities + Will report directly to the Senior Area Manager + Lead and manage 1 harvesting focused forester, including hiring, mentoring/coaching, and performance management + Layout activities including design and layout of harvest units, stream buffers and leave areas + Assist engineering staff with road layout + Administration of harvest and road maintenance contracts + Development of annual property budgets and forecasts + Stewardship and SFI compliance + Stewardship of people, including development, implementation, and leadership in support of the MFM safety principles + Support acquisitions, dispositions and client information requests + Other duties as assigned **What are we looking for** + A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Forest Engineering, Forest Management, or a related field is preferred.
