Hayssen Operator - 2nd shift

SUMMARY:

The Hayssen Operator is responsible for machine and line operation associated with the shredding and packaging of quality cheese products.   Always adheres to all USDA, GMP, and safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Set-up, adjusts, monitors and performs general operating maintenance on Hayssen and other line equipment used to shred and package cheese.  Documents and records when work is done on equipment.Performs leaker, weight, gas, magnet, metal detection and finished package integrity, oxygen, and carbon dioxide checks as required.  Additional checks may be added.  Documents and records each check.Documents and tracks film data throughout the course of a shift per requirement frequencies.  Retrieves samples as needed.  Uses, utilizes and documents overruns.Assists line packaging workers to ensure successful line operations, job order fulfillments, and proper completion of skid tags according to order sheets.Retrieves order sheets and completes skid tags accordingly.Ensures all required production paperwork is completed.Interacts and communicates with packaging manager, packaging supervisors, quality, and office personnel.  Demonstrates initiative and strong interpersonal, communication and team skills.Performs line pre-op inspections and maintains chemical strength log.Records data in the SAP Manufacturing system.Ability to work in a safe and sanitary manner in compliance with GMP’s.Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly and neat work area.Respect physical demands of job listed in “Physical Demands” section below.Attendance at work is an essential job duty.  Job requires regular attendance and work to be performed at the Tulare-Levin plant site.All other assigned duties.

FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

All packaging personnel are responsible for food safety including, but not limited to practicing GMP’s, and appropriate food defense techniques.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Good communication, math, statistical, skills are necessary.Good mechanical skills and aptitudeComputer skills helpful

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Being able to resolve issues/problems that involve numerous variables in demanding situations.

Hourly Range: $29.63 - $34.91
