Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Environmental team based in the Ottawa, ON office and have the opportunity to work with a great team.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Conducting Designated Substance Surveys and/or stand-alone asbestos or mould surveys for institutional, federal and commercial clients/buildings Providing engineering and technical support for projects involving the abatement of the aforementioned materials Work closely with abatement and general contractors Assist with abatement inspections and complete clearance and/or perimeter air sampling during abatement programs Analyzing phase contrast microscopy (PCM) air samples for asbestos using NIOSH 7400 methodInterpreting laboratory analytical results Preparing written reports pertaining to site investigations and abatementPotential for Expanded Growth in the Environmental Group and Ottawa Office
Completing field investigations (overseeing test pits and borehole drilling, soil and groundwater sampling) Completing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments Completing Indoor Air Quality Assessment Completing potable water testing programs Work on large projects in concert with EXP’s building sciences group and use your HAZMAT knowledge to support other departments within the EXP office.What your experience looks like
College Diploma in Environmental or Civil Engineering Technology or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental/Civil Engineering or Environmental Science Minimum 1-year experience as hazardous materials technician and/or related experience (additional experience is an asset) Strong writing skills including the ability to write reports Experience working in a client services environment with developed client service skills Ability to work with multi-disciplinary groups as well as independently Highly motivated and able to work well within a team environment Very strong organizational skills Bilingualism is an asset to help support our current client baseEXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
