HBS Coordinator

An opportunity has arisen for a passionate and driven individual to champion a culture of continuous improvement across all areas of the Howmet Exeter facility. The role operates on a day shift, reporting to Nic Vayle, HBS Lead.
Your main responsibilities will include:
+ Helping leaders identify Improvement opportunities, and solutions, and support building the business case.
+ Leading and co-ordinating the start-up phase of newly created HBS projects, maintain and report results during implementation phase and plan the effective handover to ensure results and systems are sustained.
+ Reporting activity, progress and results to Leadership as required, escalating any blockers.
+ Advising and helping run Kaizen events, as well as shop floor improvement activities.
+ Coordinating and managing multiple projects and HBS implementation in line with Plant Strategic Plan (Hoshin).
+ Acting as a central reference point for information and help in all aspects of continuous improvement, championing methods across the business and provide the support and guidance necessary to successfully implement HBS at HEC.
Essential
+ 2 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Position.
+ Understanding of manufacturing systems, quality tools and their practical application.
+ Understanding of Lean principles and tools (Kaizen, 5 why, 5s, TPM etc.) training will be given.
+ Demonstrable experience of involvement and support with improvement activity.
+ Natural influencer with the ability to inspire confidence in others.
+ Confident communication skills and ability to work with people at all levels.
+ Excellent coaching and mentoring skills, including stakeholder identification and management.
+ Respect for other opinions, unbiased and willing to listen to views of others.
+ Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects to achieve set targets, prioritising as necessary to support the business needs.
+ Proven track record of turning theory into practical implementation.
+ Good level of computer literacy (Excel / Power Point).
+ Awareness of Health and Safety.
Desirable
+ Engineering Experience
+ Six Sigma Green Belt. If not, willing to train.
+ HBS Level 1. If not, commitment to attain.
