HCCS Principal (Elementary) - Grades K-6 **CONTRACT TITLE** HCCS Principal **FLSA** Exempt **CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION** The Hunter College Campus Schools (HCCS) seeks qualified candidates for the position of Principal of the Hunter College Elementary School. HCCS are among the nation's oldest centers for educating the intellectually gifted and serve a student body that is racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse. The Principal reports to the Exec Director of HCCS. The duties and responsibilities include personnel selection, supervision and development, curriculum development, and budget management of the Elementary School. **QUALIFICATIONS** HCCS seeks candidates with leadership experience in education and in working with people representing diverse backgrounds, roles, and interests. He/she needs strong skills in communication, staff supervision and development, administration, and professional skills necessary to strengthen the global reputation of HCCS as schools that demonstrate best practices in education. A Master's degree is required with an earned Doctorate in a relevant field preferred. Knowledge and/or experience in the theory and best practices in K-6 education of the intellectually gifted (or similar group) is highly desirable. New York State certification as a School Administrator Supervisor (SAS), School Building Leader (SBL), or School District Administrator (SDA) is preferred and required within four years of employment. **COMPENSATION** Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience: $xxxxxx- $182,970. **BENEFITS** CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification.
