HCM Specialist - Office of the Provost

Requirements

The HCM Specialist will serve as the first point of contact for all student and adjunct faculty keying transactions for assigned main campus units. This position will be responsible for initiating student and adjunct faculty transactions in GMS, and providing guidance based on the student and faculty affairs hiring policies put in place by the Student Employment Office and Office of Faculty Affairs. The HCM Specialist will manage and audit overall student and adjunct faculty keying HCM processes, systems, and procedures across the assigned organizational unit. This is a “deadline” driven position that requires candidates to possess the ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail.  Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

Manage all HCM requirements for students and adjunct faculty of more than 3000 entries per academic year.

Provide excellent customer service, communicating with students, Department Administrators, and Hiring Managers in answering questions related to onboarding, payroll, and timesheet entries.

Support the Senior HCM Operations Analyst in the staff recruitment cycle, including dispositioning candidates, drafting offer letters, and initiating job requisitions. 

Interpret student and adjunct faculty human resources policies and procedures, advising units on implementation.

Execute and implement the standards set by the Director of Human Capital Management Operations in implementing the full-cycle of student and adjunct faculty transactions.

Manage data accuracy (new hire data entry, employee personnel action changes in Workday), ensuring that supporting documentation is in compliance with Georgetown University policies and that keyed transactions in GMS are reflected in the Main Campus Position Database.

Work Interactions

This position reports directly to the Sr. HCM Operations analyst in the Provost Finance Office. The position will serve as a liaison for the assigned unit/school to other areas of the University and Main Campus, particularly as relates to student and adjunct faculty hiring policies and procedures. The incumbent will have close interactions with hiring managers across the main campus, students, Provost Finance Office staff, the Provost Office of HCM operations, Student Employment Office, Office of Faculty Affairs, Payroll Office, and the Tax Department. The HCM Specialist will work with fellow HCM specialists across various campuses. 

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

2 years of administrative and HR experience required (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Ability to communicate with managers and employees in an effective manner with constant changes in Main Campus processes

Must be able to work in both current and future deadlines simultaneously

Forward thinking and strong analytical and organizational skills are required

Is knowledgeable on federal, state and local employment laws

Knowledge of employing minor workers, paid and unpaid, to provide guidance to managers and supervisors in the use and application of student employment and adjunct faculty policies

Previous Workday experience, preferred

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
