We are looking for a Head, Clinical Program Diversity who is experienced in defining and implementing clinical trial diversity strategy in a global environment to join us in our Program Delivery team, based in our US, UK, Belgium or German offices in Raleigh / Slough / Brussels/ Monheim.
About the role
Head Clinical Program Diversity will be responsible for ensuring that UCB has an appropriate framework and guidance in place to ensure that applicable Clinical/Regulatory Regulations with requirements for Diversity of participants in clinical trials are followed. They will be responsible for ensuring that all clinical teams give consideration to enhancing diversity in their clinical trials and have appropriate clinical diversity plans in place and be responsible for monitoring and continuing to improve the enrollment of diverse participants in all appropriate UCB Sponsored clinical trials.
Who you’ll work with
The Head Clinical Program Diversity will successfully collaborate & partner with all our internal and external stakeholders such as Asset Teams, Global DE&I (talent), Strategic Partners, Patients and Investigators. Collaboration across key development and functional areas is critical (e.g., Real World Evidence, GCSO, GCD, Regulatory, Corporate Affairs, Patient Engagement, Technology and Innovation, and corporate Sustainability efforts.
What you’ll do
Enhance, develop, and lead, the implementation of the strategy while establishing the internal and external awareness of the importance of diversity and inclusion in clinical trials.Build upon and enhance UCB’s strategy for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in clinical trials in partnership with corporate objectives and multi-year vision for clinical trial diversity and representation. Facilitate and share best practices for enhancing inclusivity, open exchange, and cultural competency while serving as a strategic partner to senior leaders to support DEI efforts in their areas, including diversity plans.Develop opportunities to build community relationships, awareness, health literacy, program/study design, clinical trial patient experience, and clinical trial participant expected outcomes that will ultimately transform the success of participation and retention of diverse populations that are representative of the global epidemiology of the disease states where UCB is working.Ensure collaboration with Asset Leadership and observe that Diversity & Inclusion is understood, and part of the how UCB conducts research.Ensure appropriate systems in place to monitor the recruitment of diverse populations into UCB clinical trials on an ongoing basis and help facilitate proactive planning to right track recruitment if appropriate.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree: Master’s degree preferred.A minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and/or CRO industry is required.5+ years of DE&I experience.Proven track record of successfully leading DE&I initiatives in cross-functional and global environment.Knowledge of DE&I Clinical Trial Regulations and Industry Trends.Self-starter ready with the ability to lead large and small global, cross functional teams.
This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $177,200 - $232,600 per year. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
