**Purpose:**
The Field Medical Excellence (FME) Head is responsible for driving the regional Field Medical (FM) strategy by leveraging innovation and operational excellence, in conjunction with global FM initiatives, to advance FM value to external and internal stakeholders, with the ultimate goals of improving patient care and outcomes. The incumbent is the regional FM Lead for operational support, advice and quality assurance; acts as a single point of contact to the Global Field Medical Excellence, on behalf of the region; shares regional best practices; informs and executes the global FM Road Map.
**Essential Job Responsibilities:**
**Regional FM Leadership and Field Medical Subject Matter Expert**
+ Provides strategic functional vision, direction, and operational support to MA leadership in the region.
+ Identifies regional FM operational gaps and works collaboratively with cross functional stakeholders to develop and implement solutions.
+ Assess the need for tools and/or process changes based on industry standards/benchmark and/or the dynamic healthcare environment, including but not limited to FM-specific SOP/policies, evolution of the field metric dashboard, reporting from a quantitative-based metric to impact and outcome-based KPI.
+ Work in partnership with regional FM leadership and global FME to define, implement, and share best practice regarding FM strategic and operational activities.
**Governance**
+ Ensures regional and FM role specific compliance with all local, regional and Astellas regulatory standards.
+ Ensures that FM colleagues in the region complete assigned training and are tracked and monitored accordingly.
+ Ensures the structure, function and capabilities of the FM team to evolve, as necessary, to continually meet the needs of external stakeholders in a changing healthcare environment.
**Capabilities**
+ Actively promotes a culture of continuous improvement through the development and roll out of training programs; and drives a coaching discipline that engenders a culture of excellence and medical value in FM activities.
**FM Value**
+ Ensures a successful FM annual planning process is in place with appropriate and aligned objectives and KPIs.
+ Supports regional leadership, affiliates and regional FM managers in monitoring, reporting and communicating the outcomes and impact of these objectives and KPIs.
**Qualifications Required:**
+ Minimum Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in science or health-related field is required.
+ 6+ years of relevant industry and functional experience
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
+ Demonstrated high level of competency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems,
+ SharePoint, IT systems and MS Office applications.
+ High-level knowledge of web and iPad Veeva CRM interface.
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze and develop performance metrics, and identify and implement process improvements.
+ Excellent collaboration and communication skills to facilitate team discussions and drive optimal team performance.
+ Demonstrated leadership in a matrix organization.
**Preferred:**
+ Advanced degree in science or business (MD, Pharm D, PhD, MBA)
+ Experience in stakeholder facing role or operational support of stakeholder facing role(s)
+ Demonstrated high level knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle planning, understanding of the Veeva Data Model, and report writing for the Veeva Data model.

**Salary Range:** $170,000 -$235,400 (NOTE: Final salary could be more or less, based on experience)
