Overview

Purdue University Northwest is pleased to announce the expansion of the athletic program with the addition of Women's Flag Football.  PNW is the first public institution in the state of Indiana to add a collegiate Women’s Flag Football team. Women’s Flag Football has quickly become one of the fastest-growing sports in the nation, with strong support from the NFL. The inaugural season for the Pride will be in Spring 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities of Head Coach, Women’s Flag Football

This position has does have the opportunity for a flexible work schedule but does require a strong on-campus presence.

Salary range:  $50,000 - $60,000 

Serve as Head Coach for the Women’s Flag Football team.  Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the responsibilities for the position include the following:  Plan, organize, recruit and develop the Women's Flag Football program    Coach the Women’s Flag Football team in game competition   Direct daily practice during the prescribed season  Oversee flag football program, responsible for the development of the team  Supervise Assistant Coaches  Recruit prospective student-athletes  Lead team travel  Responsible for team equipment checkout and return  Construct competition schedule with approval of the Director of Athletics  Assist with academic monitoring of student-athletes  Assist the Director of Athletics with public relations and fundraising activities  Direct summer camps and clinics   Benefits of Head Coach, Women’s Flag Football Full benefits – Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Retirement, Life Insurance and more  Accrue 15 days’ vacation your first year, then 22 days’ vacation your 2nd year plus rollover   University contribution of 10% to retirement (3 year waiting period)  University contributions to Health Savings Account –   Plus a chance to earn more through participating in University Wellness Initiatives  10 paid holidays  Employee Wellness Programs  Paid Parental Leave after one year of service  Tuition remission for you and your spouse and dependent children at any Purdue campus

Education of Head Coach, Women’s Flag Football Bachelor's degree required Degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Education, Fitness or related program is preferred Experience of Head Coach, Women’s Flag Football One year coaching experience in any sport at the professional, college or high school level is required. Core Competencies of Head Coach, Women’s Flag Football Must have a valid driver's license  Must be able to use personal vehicle to drive on behalf of the University  Must meet the Minimum Driver Qualifications as defined by the Use of Vehicles for University Business Policy Must have strong team building/management skills Ability to work across academic and administrative departments in a cooperative manner; strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to coordinate collaborative efforts; demonstrated experience in program development, management, and leadership Ability to interact with members of the public and media Ability to supervise regular and temporary staff Understanding of the student-athletes' commitment to academics Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. occasionally.  As a part of the job responsibilities associated with this position, knowledge of rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA and conference should be maintained, reviewed and practiced to ensure compliance.  Application Instructions
