4 Year Degree Under general supervision, administers, manages, and leads all strategic aspects of the University’s NCAA Division 1 Volleyball program in such a manner as to build and maintain a competitive, quality program that reflects positively on the image and reputation of the University at all times.- Oversees all coaching responsibilities for the program, including planning, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices and training, and coaching at all competitions.
- Oversees all recruiting activity for the program in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations.
- Schedules all practices and competitions for the program.
- Recommends for employment and manages staff of assistant coaches.
- Oversees all administrative and financial operations of the program, including partnering with the Executive Director of the Bruin Club on any fundraising initiatives or stewardship needs.
- Represents the program to various institutional programs and externally to media, government agencies, funding agencies, students, parents, and the general public.
- Complies with all NCAA, Conference, University, and Department of Athletics policies.

Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the specified sports program. Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, as well as athletic recruitment methods and techniques. Skilled in evaluating talent in order to recruit players to improve the program. Ability to lead and guide Division I student-athletes in area of specialty to include identifying
deficiencies and providing instruction to improve overall skill and performance. Ability to manage personnel. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. Ability to build relationships and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Skilled in budget preparation and management. Thrives in an environment of teamwork and collaboration. Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Four to six years experience required, seven to nine years preferred of directly related duties and responsibilities specified.
