OverviewThis is a seasonal position from April till early November. Housing provided at $19/day.
As Head Gardener, you will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of all garden areas. You will lead a team of gardeners & groundskeepers, ensuring high horticultural standards and implementing sustainable gardening practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement seasonal planting plans and garden projects
Manage, train, and motivate a team of gardeners & groundskeepers
Oversee the maintenance of lawns, flower beds, trees, and shrubs
Ensure the health and presentation of plants through pruning, feeding, and pest control
Manage budgets for garden supplies and projects
Lead garden tours and educational sessions for visitorsEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations
Maintain garden machinery and tools
QualificationsProven experience in a similar Head Gardener or Senior Gardener role
Formal horticultural qualifications (RHS Level 3 or equivalent) preferred
Strong leadership and team management skills
Extensive plant knowledge and a passion for garden design
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditionsKnowledge of sustainable gardening practices
Strong communication skills for interacting with staff and visitors
