Your role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Accounting and Consolidation join our Surface Solutions Finance Team.
The Surface Solutions Business Unit is subject to a planned divestment to the company Global New Materials International (GNMI) as of August 1st 2025. This role will be part of the divestment.
GNMI is headquartered in China. Surface Solutions is planned to become a standalone business under GNMI ownership. In this context, a fully-fledged, dedicated Finance function for Surface Solutions needs to be build-up. For this function we are looking for a Head of Accounting and Consolidation. The successful candidate will lead and manage the entire global accounting and consolidation process for 15+ legal entities across 10+ countries, including three global manufacturing sites in a diverse ERP landscape. This senior role requires a strong background in IFRS accounting and consolidation processes, experience in mid-sized or smaller industrial company, and a hands-on mentality, with a proven track record in leading team and developing teams.
You will establish, emnage and lead the Global Accounting and Consolidation Processes and team (IFRS). Establish and implement group-wide accounting policies and guidelines to ensure uniformity in financial reporting and compliance with IFRS across all entities. Monitor changes in IFRS and local accounting regulations to ensure timely updates to accounting practices and policies. Establish a team in collaboration with CFO and GNMI Group by defining, implementing and finetuning roles, processes, and related tools to ensure seamless execution of accounting and consolidation activities after carve out. This position is vital as we prepare for the planned divestment of Surface Solutions and we offer an opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping the new Finance team and processes (with focus on FP&A and Controlling) of a newly independent business unit. verse challenges.

 

Who you are:

10+ years of experience in accounting roles, with a strong focus on IFRS and consolidation.Proven experience in leading finance teams and driving organizational change.Previous experience in a mid-sized or smaller industrial company is highly desirablePrevious expertise in managing post-merger integration would be a plusExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different regions and culturesResults-oriented and hands on mentality with excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilitiesFluency in English (both written and spoken)Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred
