Your role: 
We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Accounting & Consolidation to join our Surface Solutions finance team. The Surface Solutions business unit, a mid-sized multinational leader in the pigments industry, is subject to a planned divestment to the company Global New Materials International (GNMI), headquartered in China, as of August 1st 2025. This role will be part of the divestment. 

 

Surface Solutions is planned to become a stand-alone business under GNMI ownership. In this context, a fully-fledged, dedicated Finance function for Surface Solutions needs to be build-up. The Head of Accounting & Consolidation will play a critical role in leading and managing the entire global accounting and consolidation process for over 15 legal entities across more than 10 countries, including three global manufacturing sites in a diverse ERP landscape.

 

This senior role requires a strong background in IFRS accounting and consolidation processes, experience in mid-sized or smaller industrial company, and a hands-on mentality, with a proven track record in leading team and developing teams. You will establish, manage and lead the Global Accounting and Consolidation processes and team (IFRS). You will establish and implement group-wide accounting policies and guidelines to ensure uniformity in financial reporting and compliance with IFRS across all entities. You will also monitor changes in IFRS and local accounting regulations to ensure timely updates to accounting practices and policies. You will establish a team in collaboration with the CFO and GNMI Group by defining, implementing and finetuning roles, processes, and related tools to ensure seamless execution of accounting and consolidation activities post-carve-out. 

 

Who you are:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferredOver 10 years of experience in accounting roles, with a strong focus on IFRS and consolidation.Proven experience in leading finance teams and driving organizational change.Previous experience in a mid-sized or smaller industrial company is highly desirablePrevious expertise in managing post-merger integration would be a plusExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different regions and culturesResults-oriented and hands on mentality with excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilitiesFluency in English (both written and spoken)
