A bit about the job:
The Insurance, Wealth and Retirement (IWR) Financial Reporting teams, under the IWR Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), are responsible for the delivery of accurate, timely and fit for purpose financial reporting and analysis to a range of stakeholders with differing needs. The teams report across multiple metrics and handle both scale and complexity given IWR’s unique position of being a key player across the breadth of UK life insurance products. Overall, the function comprises c180 onshore and c220 offshore FTE.
Within this role you will lead the UK IWR Annuity & Protection insights team, part of the Reporting Insights Pillar, responsible for delivering analysis and insights to enable better decision making across these businesses. You will be responsible for shaping and realising our ability to deliver high quality financial analysis and insights to a range of internal partners.
The Financial Reporting teams are aligned to three pillars comprising:
A Valuation and General Ledger Pillar with a focus on efficiency and process excellence,A Reporting Insights Pillar with a focus on analysis, insights, and performance, andAn External Reporting Pillar with a focus on high quality and timely external reporting.Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Senior Actuary by qualification or with multiple years of experience of leading an actuarial teamExtensive experience of IFRS and Solvency II reporting frameworks as applicable to Life InsurersGood understanding of the life and retail investments industryStrong understanding of financial management techniques and can review and recommend financial judgementsAbility to communicate sophisticated topics in a clear and focused way to enable decisions to be made effectively and demonstrate the ability to lead and inspire changeWhat you’ll get for this role:
