Head of ADC Discovery

Position Summary:

This individual will be an SME in support of scientific strategy and execution of novel ADC projects. Based in our South San Francisco Discovery facility, this individual will provide leadership support to ADC platform teams across Oncology and Immunology portfolio in large matrix organizations that utilize cross-functional team members to drive critical ADC projects forward

Responsibilities:

·         Utilize extensive medicinal chemistry background to fill existing gap in ADC linker payload expertise and historical knowledge

·         Engage deeply with PTLs, linker innovation and medicinal chemistry teams to provide additional technical insights

·         Incorporate external ADC data/trends into our strategy, guide towards most differentiated medicines

·         Provide SME level guidance on all things ADC related including CMC, IP strategy, PK (nonclinical and clinical)

·         Provide ADC scientific leadership, mentoring and development for both Oncology and Immunology portfolio

Basic Requirements:

·         PhD in relevant discipline with 15+ years proven experience successfully leading and delivering on drug discovery and development for Antibody-Drug Conjugates

Additional Preferences:

·         Specific drug development experience with novel payload and linker discovery required

·         Track record of delivering successful ADC candidates

·         Medicinal chemistry background in linker payload discovery and optimization; including novel mechanisms of action

·         Previous experience leading in a matrix organization.

Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $240,750 to $353,100 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
