Overview As the Head of Architecture, you will lead our technical vision, overseeing the design and execution of high-quality, cloud-scale platforms and services that are extensible, reliable, secure, and performant. Your leadership will be crucial in navigating EagleView’s most complex technical challenges, driving innovation, and ensuring our technology architecture aligns seamlessly with our business objectives.This position reports directly to the CTO. To succeed in this role, you will be a critical thinker and have an eager willingness to 'roll up your sleeves' to get goals implemented. You are 'hands on' with technical topics, and you take personal responsibility. Responsibilities Strategic Vision and Technical Leadership Define and continuously refine the technology strategy, blueprint, and roadmap to align with EagleView’s strategic business objectives. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends, especially in geospatial, imagery processing, applied AI, and at-scale cloud architecture to guide technology decisions and differentiate EagleView from competitors. Enact & oversee architectural standards and governance processes, acting as the company-wide authority on architectural practices. Team Leadership and Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of senior engineers and architects. Foster a culture of innovation and excellence. Encourage the team to explore and adopt new technologies and approaches, including next-generation cloud-native frameworks, emerging AI techniques, and event-driven architecture (EDA), to maintain technical leadership and innovation. Directly manage a team of solution architects and exert indirect influence over a broader group of architects within cross-functional teams. Ensure that strategic goals are met with high standards of technical excellence. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with engineering teams, product leaders, and external partners to develop and refine the technology vision and strategy. Ensure consistent and coherent execution of this vision across all projects and initiatives. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment on architectural decisions and strategies. Participate in update calls and presentations with senior management and investors, as required. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Mastery level competencies in software engineering with a minimum of 5 years in a senior architectural leadership role, preferably in cloud-native technology platform companies focused on data-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service products. Proven experience in modernizing legacy systems and leading technological transformation. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills, capable of maintaining calm and competence in high-pressure situations. Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior architecture role at a technology platform company, leading architects accountable for building out at-scale, enterprise-class platforms that enabled data-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service products. Experience modernizing legacy systems including the technical and change management aspects that accompany transformative change. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills. Ability to communicate software engineering concepts effectively and clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences. This is a full-time, remote position with a base salary range of $150,000-$240,000/year, bonus eligible.
