About the Role

The position is to lead the AMC on strategic asset allocation plan process and formulate and execute tactical asset allocation strategies to deliver the general account and ILP investment targets. To satisfy this objective, the position shall run research on macro and market development as well as identify new investment opportunities in asset class and strategy. The position shall also drive ALM together with Finance and Actuarial fundctions of the company and develop investment solutions to achieve the ALM objectives of the company. Meanwhile, the position shall set fund level priorities and goals with stakeholders, design investment targets for IAMC that align with the overall fund objectives. Annually, the position shall collaborate with IAMC and AIA Life’s functions to prepare a strategic plan and proposal for Strategic Asset Allocation plan. In addition, the position shall provide investment analysis for senior management and support Product Development and Marketing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead SAA and strategic planning process from the investment side and collaborate with stakeholders to complete the relevant governance and approval process. Drive related implementation strategy and transition planning. Collaborate with other functions of the company on all investment-related ALM matters. Support the achievement of multiple ALM targets, including but not limited to duration, capital and solvency.Study opportunities in the market, analyze and establish investment solutions to drive the achievement of financial targets set by the company.Provide fundamental analysis and investment return assumptions of asset classes to the CIO and senior management to facilitate decision makings. With the help of IAMC Research dept, produce top-down analysis include but not limited to macro perspectives, interest rate and FX analysis. Analyze supply/demand dynamics for asset classes to support planning.Responsible for TAA setting, capture opportunities to enhance return under changing market conditions with reference to Group’s TAA suggestion and coordinate with IAMC on TAA execution. Actively monitor TAA positions and review performance attribution to address any deficiency.Responsible for managing fund targets: (1) Set priorities and goals on matrix targets for each fund with ACT, support the achievement of these multiple targets through suitable strategies and with reference to peers’ analysis. (2) Design appropriate KPIs for IAMC and deliver to them such that goals and priorities can be met on a total fund levels. Responsible for the asset and portfolio mandates. (3) Track investment results supplied by the Outsourcing team and provide recommendations in adjusting investment strategies in order to meet fund target as needed.Responsible for budget planning and forecast updates, set and negotiate investment assumptions and support regulatory reporting.Support Product Development and Marketing as needed.Complete other tasks assigned by CEO and other senior management. Responsible for setting the governance/compliance/investment risk framework for Asset Allocation & Investment Solutions Dept (incl. policy and procedures/SOP, post-inv. management etc.).

Minimum Job Requirements:

Degree in Finance/Accounting/economic, with at least 10 years of asset allocation experience and insurance industry.

Proficiency in MS Office, Bloomberg, Hundsun, Wind and other investment application software.

Strong leadership and mentoring skill with good understanding of risk management.

Strong analytical and decision-making skill.

Accountable, efficient, focus, detail oriented, and able to work under pressure.

Proficiency in spoken and written English in order to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders.
