This Opportunity:
The Head of Business Development, APAC is a senior leadership role. You will be responsible for driving growth and business strategy across the Asia-Pacific region (APAC).
You will be accountable for leading and maintaining oversight of all current and upcoming bids, which involves working on large-scale Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) bids / tenders, across all our sectors and aligning business development (BD) activities to Palladium’s global plan. Working closely with global and regional leaders, this key role will support clients with relevant knowledge, unparalleled technical expertise and an impact-focused precision to win strategically important projects. As the Head of Business Development you will have the opportunity to contribute to large-scale, social and economic change initiatives - from small pilot projects to sophisticated, multi-year programs that impact societies, economies, and lives.
Location:
The role could be based in any of our Australia corporate locations,
including Canberra, Adelaide and Brisbane.

Primary
Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversee the development and communication of market analysis and research insights that could inform the realisation of APAC’s strategic growth targets
Oversee business development initiatives within APAC to ensure priority bids are managed through structured capture plans that align with APAC’s strategy
Identify and influence potential business opportunities over the mid to long-term and oversee the development of compelling value propositions for all of APAC’s bids
Collaborate with key stakeholders from Europe, Middle East & Africa regions (EMEA) and the Americas and contribute to their opportunities to pursue opportunities within APAC
Oversee the commercial aspects of bid development to ensure a consistent and sustainable approach for the business which meets the needs of both the client and APAC’s business revenue targets
Build, nurture and maintain broad and deep networks and long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials/ministers, community and business leaders, donor representatives, bilateral donor agenciesPalladium Team Leaders, Palladium Regional Business Partners (RBPs), Executive Officers, Managing Directors, Directors, and technical experts
Formulate partnerships and collaborations with organizations and networks for strategic growth including representing Palladium to governments, donors, partners, and other stakeholders, through thought leadership at international meetings, ministry-level events, technical working groups and internal technical teams
Liaise and coordinate as required with other external Palladium partners, networks and GISI operating companies within the region
Solve problems and make decisions in complex and potentially politically sensitive or volatile situations, where an understanding of decision repercussions is anticipated and possible risks mitigated
Role model the Palladium behavioural capabilities in conjunction with our Guiding Principles
Essential Criteria:
Significant experience of working on large-scale DFAT bidding process / tenders within a Business Development function.A deep understanding of the economic, social and political context of Asia-Pacific (APAC), including familiarity with developing country contexts gained through significant overseas experienceExcellent organisational, strategic thinking and planning, and project management skills
Connection to a broad and relevant network of professionals, and strong networking and presentation skills
Excellent business development and stakeholder management skills
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
A proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Flexibility to travel to various locations throughout the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region
