The role

The Head of Business Development – Defence, APAC is a senior leadership role. You will be responsible for driving growth and business strategy across the Asia Pacific region (APAC) within the Defence capability, facility, capital works and technology sectors.

 

You will be accountable for leading and maintaining oversight of all current and upcoming bids across the Defence sector and aligning business development (BD) activities to Palladium’s APAC Defence plan. Working closely with the CEO Infrastructure, this key role will support clients with relevant knowledge, unparalleled technical expertise and an impact-focused precision to win strategically important projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to large-scale, social and economic change initiatives, ranging from small pilots to sophisticated, multi-year programs that support the Department of Defence and more widely the Defence Industry.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Lead the development of Palladium’s long-term strategy for business development and growth in the Defence sector.Oversee the development and communication of market analysis and research insights that could inform the realisation of APAC’s strategic growth targets in Defence.Oversee business development initiatives within Defence to ensure priority bids are managed through structured capture plans that align with APAC’s Defence strategy.Identify and influence potential business opportunities over the mid to long-term and oversee the development of compelling value propositions for all of APAC’s Defence bids.Collaborate with key stakeholders from Europe, Middle Easte and Africa regions (EMEA) and the Americas and contribute to their opportunities to pursue new business within APAC from other sovereign government Defence agencies.Oversee the commercial aspects of bid development to ensure a consistent and sustainable approach for the business which meets the needs of both the client and APAC’s business revenue targets.Build, nurture and maintain broad and deep networks and long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials / ministers, Department of Defence, Defence Industry, Palladium Team Leaders, Palladium Regional Business Partners (RBPs), Executive Officers, Managing Directors, Directors and technical experts.Formulate partnerships and collaborations with organisations and networks for strategic growth including representing Palladium through thought leadership at international meetings, ministry-level events, technical working groups and internal technical teams.

 

About You

You will have a deep understanding of the Defence industry, its partners, providers and the Defence sector. You are a strategic thinker, possess excellent project management and planning skills and have an extensive and broad network within the Defence sector.

 

Additional key requirements include:

 Best in class business development and stakeholder management skills. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. A proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, particularly in a multicultural environment. A natural networker and comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences.
