It’s an exciting time to join Bounce Back as we invest in a new role for the charity.  We’re looking for a Head of Business Development to join the team.  You’ll help us drive growth, secure funding, and build strategic partnerships to support our mission. You will develop funding streams through tenders, grants, trusts and foundations, direct proposals, and corporate sponsorship. You will lead a small business development team and you will oversee all income streams, ensuring a balanced focus on trust and foundation funding and tender applications. Stakeholder engagement is key, working closely with internal teams and external partners to maximise impact. 

Location: Kennington, London with hybrid working

Salary: £47,000 per annum

Contract: 6 month Fixed Term Contract with possibility for extension
Hours: 37.5 pw

Role Overview:

We’re looking for an interim Head of Business Development.  It’s a 6-month opportunity as a fixed term or self-employed option, with the potential for extension. 

 

Your role will be to secure existing contracts and achieve our ambition of growth across all areas of our business aligned to our 3-year strategic plan. Our funding is generated from tendering, grant applications, trust and foundations, direct proposals, and corporate sponsorship.  

 

You’ll lead and manage a small business development team, responsible for all aspects of income generation, with an even split of trusts and foundations and tender applications.   You will have oversight and responsibility for retaining existing contracts, Identifying, developing and winning new business opportunities and working closely with the Bounce Back’s Senior Leadership Team.   

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Line manage, support, train and develop a small business development team to submit proposals; tenders, grant applications, trust and foundations, direct proposals, and corporate sponsorship.Develop and deliver training on a range of business development and tender writing topic areas to the Business Development Team and wider organisation.Work with the Director, Senior Leadership Team and other stakeholders to identify new business opportunities in line with strategy (ETE).Produce comprehensive and detailed research on upcoming tender opportunities.Lead on advising the Director/Senior Leadership Team on bid/no bid decisions on identified opportunities.Provide overall leadership, project management and coaching/support for all tenders and proposals undertaken in the team.

We are looking for:

Someone who is an experienced manager/leader.Someone with experience and a proven ability in business development (tenders, trusts and foundations), including designing services, producing budgets, developing new products and forming strategic and operational partnerships.Experience of writing successful tenders, proposals or grant submissions.Excellent project management and organisational skills.Confident communication at all levels, developing and maintaining effective relationships.An ability to review large amounts of information, summarise and present effectively
