Salary National Circa £110,000 London Circa £130,000

A bit about the job: 

 

This role leads delivery and implementation of Aviva’s Group ambition and strategy on climate, including the Group’s integrated transition plan and the Group’s climate-related target setting.  You will create a strong leadership culture with expert knowledge, thought leadership and internal technical expertise on climate, and more broadly Aviva’s Sustainability Ambition to support the wider Aviva climate colleagues. As the Subject Matter Expert you will lead for Group on net zero decarbonisation pathways (across Investments and Insurance in particular), adaptation & resilience, the Just Transition and with a solid understanding of climate metrics, you will deliver the TPT aligned transition plan and any new underlying enabling projects/activities as well as development of Group frameworks to deliver the strategic impacts and climate/nature related partnerships.

Skills and experience we’re looking for: 

Recognised leadership and/or expertise in climate, including experience leading a broad range of climate initiatives within an organisation

Deep experience built in climate-focused technical delivery relevant for the financial services sector and developing and setting climate strategies for organisations within the financial services sector

Deep expertise of decarbonisation pathways across investments, assets and insurance, climate-related strategy, governance, risk and impact management, and metrics and targets; and associated frameworks and guidance

Strong expertise and experience of climate-related data, tools and modelling​Extensive knowledge of key external initiatives and players in the climate finance space (including but not limited to the NZAOA, GFANZ, UNEP FI, NGFS), and associated climate-related policy and regulatory developments

Ability to lead, manage and prioritise a number of climate-related activities and workstreams, alongside building and maintaining effective relationships across the business to ensure buy-in and delivery

Starting salary between Circa £110,000 and Circa £130,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)

Bonus opportunity – 25% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
