Job Summary:

Reporting into the EMEA Senior Director Commercial Operations, we are seeking a Head of Commercial Data - EMEA to support the development and delivery of CooperVision’s global data strategy and ensure successful delivery and operational effectiveness in the EMEA region. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking and operational excellence combined with strong communication skills, leadership and a detailed understanding of how a robust data strategy underpins the organisation’s commercial objectives.

Scope

Shape the development of global data strategy, policy and execution into the EMEA region. Ownership of commercial data quality in the EMEA markets (Europe, South Africa, Russia, Turkey, Middle East and India). Support B2B data integration with customers and other partner organisations. Limited budget responsibility expected. Lead a team of 3 Data Management Analysts.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in shaping and delivering data strategy in data life cycle management and detailed knowledge of information technology systems and tools. They will be a leader in data governance and IT projects and their application to commercial business decision making, improved business efficiency and enhanced customer experience.

Principle responsibilities include:

Lead the EMEA Commercial Data team providing clear vision, strategy and objectives for the team, operational leadership, performance management and personal development of team members. Develop a thorough understanding of the Commercial business, tie business needs to appropriate data/information assets, harness information assets to support current and future business needs, to drive improved business efficiency and enhanced customer experience. Collaborate with the Global Commercial Data Lead as part of the Global Commercial Data team to shape the global data strategy and governance across both the existing commercial systems (Oracle, CDM/C-MDM, Conga-CLM, SFDC-CRM) and future environment. Contribute to the development and execution of Commercial Data capability roadmap, while representing EMEA Commercial on the Global Data Governance Council. Lead engagement, coordination, and data governance for the commercial business, collaborating across the extended EMEA cross functional teams (including Distribution, Supply Chain, Finance) to ensure alignment with global data governance frameworks.  Represent the EMEA Commercial team in the development of the organisation’s data strategy, policies, and governance frameworks. Lead effective collaboration with the EMEA Business Insights team and the EMEA CRM team to address operational efficiency, streamline processes and build future data capabilities. Shape the evolution of the global Master Data Management processes and framework and execute in the EMEA region.  Optimize both the efficiency and user experience across existing and future processes and systems.  In collaboration with global teams, pioneer the use of emerging technologies, tools, and third-party data integrations to advance Master Data Management practices that benefit the commercial business. Regional ownership of key data management tools, ensuring integration with global systems. Provide leadership to the local market customer data leads to ensure country data assets support local, regional, and global business insight and decision making. Lead EMEA efforts to enhance data literacy and capability to optimise our effective understanding, governance and use data. Accountable for driving consistency, reliability and build trust in data sets across the Commercial organisation. Ownership of the company’s BI report and KPI registry tool ensuring standard definitions are understood, communicated, and consistently adopted across the organisation. In partnership with Commercial PMO, lead change management efforts across the region focused on data integrity, governance, and successful delivery of data capabilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Leadership experience in the implementation of at least one leading MDM technology (preferably informatica and Oracle). Line management experience successfully developing high-performing team and individuals. Strong leadership, project management and organizational skills to ensure new policies and guidance frameworks are successfully executed. Global and/or EMEA regional experience preferred.    Data Protection Regulation and its impact on internal systems and processes. Ability to read and understand technical material and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of relevant applications such as SalesForce, eCommerce applications, big data solutions, and data management and linkage tools. EDW and Cloud based data storage integration. Work Environment

Location is flexible – UK or EU. Preference for candidate to be commutable to CooperVision EMEA HQ, near Southampton, UK. Ability to work in different locations to support key data projects. Able to travel within Europe and Internationally as required (10% estimate although this vary depending key data projects). Prolonged computer and screen use.

Experience

Extensive experience of data management in a large multinational enterprise.

Education

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology or related discipline is a benefit.
