We are seeking a Head of Competition and Antitrust to be the architect for Ericsson’s competition/antitrust program and be instrumental to driving and supporting Ericsson’s work to mitigate and manage competition/antitrust (and adjacent areas), including Ericsson’s role in shaping the policy landscape.


This is also a unique opportunity to provide critical expertise in a leadership role for Ericsson’s global competition/antitrust team. You will be leading Ericsson globally as a thought leader in the field of competition, antitrust and adjacent areas, partnering with internal and external stakeholders globally on all aspects of competition and antitrust law and policy.


This position will be based in Washington, DC, Brussels or Stockholm. The competition/antitrust team is part of Ericsson’s Group Function (corporate) Legal Affairs team. This position reports to the Head of Global Risk and Regulatory Policy (GRRP) who is part of Ericsson’s Chief Legal Officer Leadership Team.

You will: Develop, maintain and implement Ericsson’s competition/antitrust programManage a team of competition law experts.Partner with stakeholders on all competition/antitrust related mattersProactively identify competition/antitrust law issues related to Ericsson’s business environment.Promote awareness of competition law compliance requirements within Ericsson;Appropriately address any suspected competition law incidents.Partner with internal stakeholders including Corporate & Government Investigations and Global Litigation by leading Ericsson’s defense in competition law investigations by antitrust agencies.Partner with internal stakeholders, (especially the IPR & Licensing and standardization organizations), including written and oral competition law advocacy and policy work.Partner with the Government, Policy and Advocacy team in relation to public consultations and  with other units concerning inquiries by competition agencies.Act as a liaison to, and proactively liaise with, competition agencies on policy and enforcement issues of importance to Ericsson.Engage with management on strategic proactive use of competition policy as an instrument to promote commercial goals.Engage with stakeholders in relation to mergers and acquisitions, including obtaining regulatory antitrust clearance when required.Coordinate antitrust analysis for 3rd party mergers and acquisitions that may affect Ericsson.Supervise and lead all outside counsel engagement in the area of antitrust/competition.Keep abreast with policy developments and/or legislative changes that may impact Ericsson.Maintain a sound understanding of Ericsson’s business activities so as to predict potential competition law issues or offer proactive competition law solutions for commercial situations.Review contracts and written materials as needed to ensure compliance with antitrust laws; provide competition law analysis of same.Represent Ericsson’s interests in international antitrust for a and professional competition law associations as needed (e.g. the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International Competition Network (ICN), OECD Competition Committee etc.).You will bring: 15+ years of global experience with competition law and policy, preferably on an international levelExtensive experience in driving competition/antitrust programs in a multinational companyJD, LL.B. or Master of Law, with a specialization in competition law.Good business knowledge/understanding.Highly collaborative and a strong ability to build relationships and engage a broad range of stakeholders including the ability to handle executive level internal and external contacts, as well as with government authorities and regulators.Demonstrated ability to think strategically and independently handle and manage complex and sensitive matters, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Strong judgement and maturity and proven experience in crisis, high stakes situations.Ability to navigate ambiguity effectively, gathering inputs from multiple stakeholders and/or diverse perspectives and integrate these into a clear and focused strategy.Strong communication, writing, negotiating and presentation skills.High levels of intellectual agility and an ability to quickly get up to speed across new subject matter and business areas.Excellent, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.Independent, goal-oriented and systematic way of working.Fluent in English, with excellent proven written and oral communication skills. Additional languages – a plus.Past experience working for a competition enforcement agency is a plusWillingness to travel as needed up to 10%

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

 

The salary range for this position in Washington, DC is

$257,600 - $340,000

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.

 

Your Financial Security

We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson matches $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.

 

Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
